Top 5 Ways Reiki Can Help You at Work

Posted by Helen Crosbie on 12th Dec 2018

Reiki Healing has become a very popular form of spiritual healing, and is loved by many people, including celebrities and professionals in many fields, for the healing and peace it can bring.

I'm not going to dwell particularly on celebrities who are fans because to be honest, I don't really consider somebody to necessarily be a good role model or particularly wise just because they are in the public eye. Plus, I don't watch TV so I'm not sure I could name many!

I want to talk about professionals who use Reiki and how this healing technique can help in many work and business situations.

When you think of Reiki, many people just think of Holistic Therapists or woo-woo alternative healers, or perhaps it's a treatment you've come across in your favourite beauty salon.

Whilst Reiki Treatments are lovely and certainly bring a lot of benefits, that's not the sole use for Reiki, and I think we are doing ourselves a disservice if we aren't using this amazing energy to its full capacity.

As a business owner, and somebody with a strong corporate background, I learned first hand just how useful Reiki can be in the workplace, and to be honest it's something I would recommend you learn, no matter what your job!

So here are my top 5 ways Reiki can help you at Work and in Business!

1. Use Reiki to find the right words in a difficult situation

If you've ever worked in Customer Services like I have, you'll know that sometimes it can be very hard to find the right words to say to a customer or colleague in a highly charged situation.

Complaints and disputes can be very diffitult to deal with and sometimes we can struggle to say the right thing to diffuse the situation, very often making things worse instead of better!

You can use Reiki in this situation to your advantage. Reiki is a spiritually guided energy, that means it gets it's wisdom directly from source or from God. You can use this wisdom to help you when faced with a complaint or difficult conversation.

Before entering a meeting or making a phone call, take a moment to give Reiki to your throat chakra and ask your Reiki guides to help you find the right words to bring a peaceful resolution to the situation.

I've used this tip many times, and I have a string of customer service awards to my name as a result!

2. Calm and soothe yourself (or a colleague) on a difficult day

Stress in the workplace can get to all of us, especially in today's fast-paced world of customers who want everything now, short deadlines and ever increasing productivity targets!

AMIRITE?!

This is where Reiki can be a real lifesaver in the workplace. Any time things get too much, put your hands on your heart and solar plexus chakras and give Reiki to them until you feel better.

To the unsuspecting onlooker, you might look like you have heartburn (LOL) but it's a pretty discreet way of doing a mini self-healing in the workplace.

If a colleague is having a bad day, with their permission you can channel a little Reiki to them, or if they are happy with direct touch, stand behind their chair and put your hands on their crown chakra or shoulders for a moment or two until they feel calmer and more centred.

3. Reiki First Aid

Reiki is really handy as a painkiller if you have random aches and pains or if you've hurt yourself. Just put your hand(s) on the affected part of your body, or just above it in the aura, and ask the Reiki to help with pain relief and healing.

You can do this for other people to. Depending on the circumstances, hands-on may not be appropriate or you might both be very busy, so distance healing techniques can ben very useful in this situation. You can switch the Reiki on and instruct it to continue for as long as needed.

As a qualified First Aider, I also normally use Reiki in actual First Aid situations too. It's always necessary to ask permission before giving Reiki and in an emergency it may not be practical to try to ask in the usual way. In this case, I ask my Reiki Guides whether I have permission from the person's higher self to give Reiki to them while I offer First Aid. If it's a yes, I start the flow through my hands as I tend to them.

Ethics are very important in healing as with all things and free will MUST be respected, so if it's a no, then it's no!

4.  Random acts of Healing

One of the things I often felt drawn to do when I worked in a large office, was to give healing to everybody there.

Some days the office would just feel low, down or unloved and my guides would remind me that part of my reason for still being in the corporate world was so that I could help others.

Visualise a pulse of Reiki energy expanding out from you like ripples in water, throughout the whole office and set your intention to make it a place of peace, calm, and wellbeing. You should also intend that healing is given to anyone who wants it too.

It's a really lovely healing gift to quietly give to your colleagues, and you'll notice how the energy of the office picks up after you do it!

Remember: the intention is not to manipulate others or force them to feel differently, just to offer some relaxing and healing energy that will help them to feel better.

5. Help your technology work better

We've all had IT problems at work, and all too often it can seem as though so-called labour saving devices are working against us not for us

One off the lesser known uses for Reiki is with your technology and electrical equipment.

Technology such as computers, phones and mobile devices are highly sensitive to the energy around them. They can be easily upset or perturbed by anger or abuse, especially directed at them.

Have you noticed how when you get angry with your computer it can start to run slower and may freeze up? The more you're mean to your little machine, the more it will struggle and you can end up reducing it's useful lifespan.

Take care of your tech and it'll work faster and better. If your computer or phone is struggling, take a moment to give it a little bit of Reiki and in your mind, ask it how it feels.

You may be surprised at the answer you get, and at how much better your tech responds to you once it realises you care about it!

This is a subject that I've talked about before, and I think as time goes on we will realise just how much more aware technology is - certainly more than we believe it to be.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as using Reiki on a day to day basis goes, but I wanted to put it out there that Reiki is a fanatstic skill for all, not just for your hippy Grandma, it has real-life, real-world uses by the bucket load!

So enjoy experimenting with it at work, and do let me know how you get on!
