Going with the Flow

Going with the Flow

Posted by Helen Crosbie on 15th Oct 2020

I think we can all agree that this has been a tough year. As we approach the end of 2020 I see that a lot of people are really coming to the end of their tether emotionally, or feeling mentally drained and exhausted.

With the rules of how we are permitted to live our lives changing on an almost daily basis, and varying depending on your country, state, county or town, it's become a very stressful time in the history of humanity.

And even though many of you may count yourselves lucky to still have an income, or at least a roof over your head and food on the table, I believe the events of the past 7 months have still taken their toll on us all.

No one has escaped completely emotionally & psychologically unscathed, although some have fared better than others.

With governments ramping up their measures and rules at a time when many were expecting them to be relaxed or  completely rescinded (forget three weeks to flatten the curve!) I think this is an important moment to stop, take a breath and check in with yourself.

How are you doing? How are you really doing right now? It's possible that a low level of stress or anxiety has become a permanent fixture in your life and you didn't even notice it happening.

As human beings, we like to feel in control, we like to believe that we can make a difference in our lives and choose our own decisions, but the past few months have removed many possibilities, expectations and crushed hopes and dreams.

As I mentioned in my recent podcast 'Episode 1 - Holding the Vision,' nothing has actually gone wrong with the world, although it may very much feels as though it has this year.

2020 has been a year of huge shifts, revelations for some, massive change and ultimately the destruction we are witnessing will allow us to rebuild in due course.

But not yet.

Right now, in October 2020, there isn't an awful lot that we can do on a practical level, when none of us really hold any good cards to play yet.

Furthermore with Mercury, the planet of communication starting it's retrograde transit, this isn't really a good time to be trying to start something new anyway.

So what can we do to feel better?

Well, this might seem a little counter-intuitive, but this is a really good time to just go with the flow.

Now I don't mean that we blindly do as we're told if we don't agree, or allow ourselves to be pushed around if we feel it's unfair or unjust. This is just a technique that I learned a number of years ago that will help you feel better.

If you think about it, there's really no point struggling in your mind against what is. What is, well just is, and fighting against it in our mind, in our thoughts will only make us angrier, exhausted and possibly depressed.

Going with the flow means that we can stop clinging to a particular outcome, and stop worrying, ruminating over what has happened, what is, and stressing over things we can't currently affect or change.

As and when you are in a position to do something, then great, you can do it. But until then take a load off, surrender those stressful thoughts, release those worries about the future to heaven, and allow yourself to just be in the moment.

This is your friendly reminder that you are a human BE-ing not a human worry-ing!

Time and tide may wait for no man, but equally we can't speed them up, or make them work to our personal schedule. And at this point in our evolution I'd say that's probably just as well!

Everything happens in divine timing, and things will improve in due course. The opportunities we are waiting for will present themselves in time, but right now isn't necessarily the moment.

If obstacles appear, the universe may be trying to tell you it's not the time to move forwards. If the new job doesn't appear, it may be time to focus on something else.

As I often tell clients when they come to me for a psychic reading, if nothing seems to be happening in your life, the  universe may be giving you a chance to rest. So rather than waste your quiet time with fretful thinking and trying to push an unwilling boulder up a hill, maybe choose to focus on your own self development, your spiritual and emotional wellbeing, your health and diet. Choose to do kind things for yourself, learn to relax, meditate, do yoga and allow yourself to put the unhelpful thoughts to one side.

Worrying really doesn't achieve anything positive, and by not worrying you are not somehow failing to ensure that bad things don't happen! Worry isn't a fail safe or a protection mechanism, although your mind will try to tell you that it is!

Worry is just non refundable interest on a loan you may never take out.

So if you want to know how to find peace and calm this October, try going with the flow. When it's time to take action, the universe will point the way for you, and when opportunities arise, you can take the necessary steps. But if the road is blocked, then remember that it may not the right time to try to advance.

The universe doesn't make mistakes.
