Why you should have at least one Reiki Practitioner in your business!

As we move into 2021, it's obvious that the world of work is changing. Current restrictions are forcing us all to think differently about our employees wellbeing, and although things are tricky right now, this is actually going to have a longer term positive impact.

Whilst I think everybody would like to see an end to all the restrictions as soon as possible, it occurs to me that the very fact that employers are having to think harder about the health and wellbeing of their staff is actually a good thing.

Now we may or may not personally approve all the measure being implemented, and personally I'm not a fan of things like alcohol gels and excessive cleaning with harsh chemicals. But I think we can all agree that despite the events of the past year, it really was time to start thinking about working in a new way.

Depression, anxiety and mental health concerns were already at an all time high before the COVID stuff kicked off, and although efforts were being made to helping employee wellbeing by well meaning companies, it clearly wasn't working well enough.

The sad fact is that we live in what is essentially a lunatic asylum. Humans aren't supposed to live on top of each other in densely populated cities with little or no real community or human connections. We weren't designed to sit still for 8 hours a day at a computer, and the high rate of stiffness, upper back problems and repetitive strain injuries are testament to that fact.

The restrictions imposed by world governments have forced people to think about work in different ways. Some have been forced to take time off as part of the furlough scheme, and others have had to work in different ways, perhaps for reduced hours - and people have enjoyed it!

I've heard from many people that they don't even want to go back to how things were - the drain of the 9-5, the commute, the brain drain that is everyday full time work. They feel better, more themselves and are finding their creativity is returning long with a better mood.

Whilst we may or may not be able to completely overhaul the world of work, there is one thing that we can all do to help each other on a more subtle energetic level. Something that not only helps with stress, but also depression, anxiety and loneliness. That brings feelings of wellbeing and greater self awareness, joy and light.

And that is Reiki.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is formally defined as 'spiritually guided lifeforce energy' but if that sounds too woo-woo for you, just think of it as a relaxing spa treatment where you get to sit or lie down, have a practitioner gently place their hands on you and that makes you feel amazing. Because that's what it is in reality.

Reiki isn't confined to the spa or holistic therapy setting however - it can be used on the fly in any situation, wherever it's needed.

Reiki is comforting in cases of emotional shock, overwhelm, sadness or breakdown. It's a fantastic skill for first aiders or managers to have under their belt, so it can be used in times of extreme stress or crisis.

In an ideal world it would be wonderful if all offices or business premises could have access to reiki's healing and reassuring touch for staff, whenever needed.

The best thing is that you don't even need to have a dedicated Reiki practitioner who does nothing else - anyone can learn this skill, if they are willing.

So why not at YOUR business?

Reiki is so easy to learn, and you may even have one or two people who have completed reiki training working for you already!

Think of it as emotional first aid, or a tool to help de-stress your staff and help them to feel better in themselves, which will help them perform better for you.

It's win win - what have you got to lose?

Reiki training courses from beginners to masters are available at Angel Wings Holistics either in person in new Milton, at your business premises or online via Zoom.
