Goodbye Social Media
Posted by Helen Crosbie on 1st Dec 2020
Well, I only went and did it - following on from my last post Toxic Technology, I've taken the plunge and closed all my social media accounts!
There is one exception, and that's an alternative site called Flote that doesn't have the addictive qualities or privacy concerns of the mainstream ones, and is run by some lovely people. I don't post on there much, as I am trying to stay out of the social media habit altogether, but if you'd like to join me you can find me at flote.app/angelwingsholistics
What's New
What I have decided to do is to make this website a helpful and welcoming central hub for all the spiritual information, resources and forecasts that previously you had to go around chasing social media to find.
There's a new page on the site for Weekly Forecasts where I post each Sunday with guidance for the following week.
The Facebook group for Reiki students has been replaced by an old fashioned forum - please contact me if you'd like the details to join.
If you haven't already seen them, I have some other free resources on this site that you are welcome to take advantage of including my Pick a Free Angel Card page where you can pick a card from my own deck, the Angel Wings Oracle whenever you feel the need for some inspiration, or want a message or some guidance from your angels.
There's no limit to the number of times you can visit the page, so please do bookmark it for the next time you need a quick card pull on the go.
The keen-eyed among you may have also noticed that these blog articles now have comments enabled at the bottom so you can react, leave me a thumbs up or a message that I can reply to directly.
Positive Change
I'm really happy with my decision to quit social media, and I have to say that I'm feeling much better in myself, more focussed and a lot less distracted on a daily basis. I've also cut down the use of my smart phone a lot too and I'd recommend this course of action to anyone!
Change is inevitable, but sometimes we forget that not all of the things pegged as "progress" are in our best interests, and not all change represents growth. It's important to remember to be discerning, and create the world in the image that we want, and not just lazily allow others to do it for us.
We have a responsibility to manifest our own futures, and we have the power and ability to create better lives for ourselves and for everyone as I explained in my book Dream Bigger: How the Law of Attraction Really Works that was published earlier this year. If you haven't read it, you can download the pdf here or get the Kindle edition from Amazon.
To help support all of you through these difficult times, I also created the Spiritual Support Crew podcast which comes out regularly, and each episode is posted here to the blog so keep your eyes open for those.
If you're a fan of Spotify or Apple podcasts, you can find it there too.
I'm always here to help and answer any questions you have so do please reach out to me if you're worried or need some spiritual guidance for the future.
I do believe that we are all headed towards a better world, even if it doesn't seem that way right now. Change can be uncomfortable, but as they say, the best discoveries are always made outside of your comfort zone so maybe that's just par for the course!
If you would like to book a reading with me on any topic - work, love, relationships, family, spiritual guidance, holistic wellness or anything you can think of, you can find all of my readings with a range of prices and service to suit everyone here: https://angelwingsholistics.com/psychic-readings-1/
If you've also decided to leave social media behind, give me a thumbs up on this post and leave a comment about your experience below - I'd love to hear from you!
